What’s your story?
I believe every organisation has interesting stories about their journey, successes and their people (even Steve in OH&S has something up his sleeve worth telling). You just need to know how to tell it so that it resonates with your audience. I love nothing more — aside from maybe wine and chocolate — than bringing together my journalism, photography, and digital communications skills spanning 28 years to tell a good story. So, whether you’re searching for a copywriter to assist with a one off project, website copy or regular communications and content to build your online presence, here’s how I can help you with that.
-
Social Media
I love filling the social feeds of my clients’ audiences with stories and posts that compels them to pause mid-scroll and go wowsers with likes or comments. Because when you’re burning the midnight oil to make your business a roaring success, you absolutely deserve to be liked, loved, engaged and celebrated across the socialsphere. The good news is you don’t have to be a social media guru, in addition to everything else you’re doing. Hand it over to yours truly and I’ll create mesmerising content on your socials, source or take images and video, develop your content planner, and help you schedule paid and organic posts.
-
Website Content
Want your customers clicking through your website to all the right places, turning them into loyal customers? Don’t we all. It starts with establishing your unique digital voice before crafting compelling website copy that excites and resonates with your fans. Whether it’s building a website from scratch, developing landing pages, fine tuning existing copy, writing blog articles or creating SEO meta descriptions and tags, I’ll help you keep your audience hanging around on your site and coming back for more.
-
Email Marketing
The average person receives 120 business emails a day, and that’s not counting all the spam. So having an enticing, ooh-I-want-to-read-more kind of catchy subject heading is critical or you risk having your best mate as the only person who opens your marketing email (thanks bestie). But if you want to increase your clicks and open rates, you’ll need some juicy, enticing copy that will not only keep them away from the unsubscribe button but will firmly establish you as a trusted brand that they’re happy to see popping up in their inbox to say hey.
-
Annual Reports
Oh that time of year again. Fifty plus pages waiting to be filled with all the amazing achievements of your organisation over the last 12 months. But who has the time to pull that together in a way that will dazzle the board and reassure stakeholders that you are the cat’s whiskers? Be kind to your comms and marketing team, they’re probably already up to their eyeballs. Handball it to moi, and I’ll interview, photograph, write stories, liaise with designers, printers, and fill in all the blanks so that you have a schmick looking annual report sitting under the noses of the board members in time for that all important annual catch up.
-
Media releases
When I worked as a magazine editor I received hundreds of media releases a week, most of which got chucked in the bin (these were the days of snail mail!). But every now and then one would scream out for attention (and it wasn’t the freebie that came with it, well not always). It would always have a professional, front-page-worthy pic, punchy well written copy with a headline and first paragraph that hooked you in and didn’t need much of a re-write (which meant I could actually take a lunch break) and clearly understood what my audience wanted to hear. Time poor journos appreciate good, ready to print copy that resonates with their audience, and I love being able to give them that on behalf of my clients.
-
Speeches
Got a speech to deliver at an upcoming event with zero time to write it? Or perhaps you just need a wordsmith to proofread and finesse what you’ve written? Ever since my nerdy days on the school debate team, I have a penchant for writing speeches that fire up an audience and tug on their emotional heart strings. Call it egotistical if you will, but I just love the rush that comes with giving an audience a damn good, inspirational speech followed by a resounding round of applause.
-
Scriptwriting
Liaising with videographers and producers to craft scripts for promotional videos and mini documenataries is also one of my specialities. I have a bit of a knack for finding the standout quotes and scenes from footage, developing film briefs and storylines, and writing voice overs and scripts that will make your audience hit the ‘watch again’ button. Let’s get the cameras rolling, yeah baby!
